a=25

20th term =500

T=a+(n-1)d

500=24+19×d

476=19d

~25

Answer:

The common difference is 25 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula for airthmetic series

a_{n} = a_{1} + (n-1)d

Where a_{n} is the nth term ,  a_{1} is the first term and d is the commmon difference .

As given

For an A.P the first term is 25 and 20th term is 500.

a_{n} = 500

a_{1} = 25

n  = 20

Put all the values in the above

500 = 25 + (20-1)d

500 - 25 = 19d

475 = 19d

d = \frac{475}{19}

d = 25

Therefore the common difference is 25 .
