For an irrational number x=3+2√2, find out what will be thd nature of the number x+1 upon x

Answer:

(1/x)=1/[3+2(2)1/2]∗([3−2(2)1/2]/[3−2(2)1/2]

(1/x)=[3−2(2)1/2]/[32−2∗(21/2)2]

(1/x)=[3−2(2)1/2]/[9−8]=3−2(2)1/2

x+(1/x)=3+2(2)1/2+3−2(2)1/2=6

As 6 is rational hence x+1/x is rational
