Heya..!

Difference between dominant and recessive trait

Dominant trait/gene/factor/allele

-It is able to express itself even in the presence of its recessive allele

-It does not require another similar allele to produce its effect on the phenotype e.g., Tt is tall plant

- Dominant allele or factor can form complete polypeptide or enzyme for expressing its effects e.g., red colour of flower in pea

Recessive trait/gene/factor/allele

-Recessive allele or factor is unable to express its effect in the presence of dominant allele

-It produces its phenotypic effectv only in the presence of similar allele i.e., tt is dwarf

- The recessive allele forms an incomplete or defective polypeptide or enzyme so that the expression consists of absence of the effect of dominant allele e.g., white flower colour in pea.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

caronduke009: pls explain'
ItsmeSRC11: T t is genotype..
ItsmeSRC11: as there is a dominant allele, its phenotype will be dominant
caronduke009: T t is genotype.
caronduke009: how u said this
