People for development look at a mix of goals because:1) Different people have different goals.2) Income is not only the important factor leading to country's development.3) The others factors like freedom,respect,peace,harmony are as much as important as the income is.4) To achieve development we cannot only deal with monetary aspects , Non-monetary aspects are equally important.It is true that for development, people look at a mix of goals, e.g. :(i) If women are engaged in paid work, their dignity in the household and society increases. So dignity is an important goal.(ii) However, it is also the case that if there is respect for women there would be more sharing of housework and greater acceptance of women working outside.(iii) A safe and secure environment may allow more women to take up a variety of jobs or run a business. These are goals other than income. Hence development goal is not only for better income but also for other important things in life.

For the development people look at the mix of goals since the income is no the whole thing for them in fact there are certain things which can never be brought with money like happiness, harmony, peace, etc. Therefore, life becomes meaningful when along with monetary aspects non-monetary values are fulfilled.
