\frac{dx}{dt} = 2t-4=0

Or t=2 s

Means the particle comes to rest after 2 second.

The position of particle at t=0 is

x_{t=0}=10

The position of particle after `coming to rest ( t=2 s ),

x_{t=2} =4-8+10=6

The displacement will be x_{t=0} -x_{t=2} =10-6=4 m
