Yes, a contract is not valid until the two parties agreed on a basic conclusion.
This statement therefore can be understood by the word consensus whic was used, a contract cannot be valid until the parties who is willing to invest come together and bargain and afterward they reach a final conclusion that is the consensus or reaching a agreed motion then a contract became valid.
Free consent in this regards can be said to be expression of ones thought willingly that is without been forced.
