Hey mate,

# Answer - T = 805.6°C

# Given-
Entropy change during melting ΔS=6.73cal/mol/K
Heat required for melting ΔH=7.26kcal/mol=7260cal/mol
Melting point T=?

# Formula-

For melting of sodium chloride salt, increase in entropy is given by

ΔS = ΔH/T

where T is melting point of NaCl

T = ΔH/ΔS

T = 7260/6.73

T = 1078.75 °K

T = 805.6°C

Melting point of sodium chloride salt is 805.6°C.

Hope you got it...

Explanation:

Given ∆H=7.26kcalmol but in cal ∆H= 7.26*1000cal ∆S°=6.73calmol Now we know tha ∆S=∆H/T T= 7.26*1000/6.73=1078.7k =805.7°c
