The FRIIS Transmission Formula:

The FRIIS Transmission Formula is usually used to measure distance between  transmitor and receiver antenna in the field of telecommunication engineering.

According to FRIIS Transmission equation,

Pr = ( Pt.Gt.Gr.λ²) / (4π.R)²

Where, Pr = Power at the receiving antenna

Pt = Output power of transmitting antenna

Gt = Gain of transmitting antenna

Gr = Gain or receiving antenna

λ = Wavelength ( λ = 1/f)

R = Distance between transmitting and receiving antenna

*So, we can see, deriving R from the FRIIS transmission formula we can measure the distance between transmitting and receiving antenna.
