Common Name - Formaldehyde

CH_{3}-CHO

It's IUPAC name is Ethanal since, it has two carbons and having -CHO as a functional group.

Common Name - Acetaldehyde

2. -OH

It is the alcohol functional group. While naming the alcohol, we use -ol as a suffix.

CH_{3}-OH

It's IUPAC name is Methanol since, it has one carbons and having -OH as a functional group.
