1) Pancreas (Option A)

  • It is a heterocrine gland (Both exocrine and endocrine).
  • The Exocrine part releases pancreatic juice.
  • The Endocrine part consists of millions of small cells which grouped together.
  • These cells are known as Islets of Langerhans.
  • In this region, we find alpha cells, beta cells and gamma cells.
  • The alpha cells release hormone glucagon.
  • The beta cells release hormone insulin.
  • The gamma cells release somatostatin which supervises the glucagon and insulin hormone.

2) Pituitary gland (Option B)

  • Also known as Hypophysis.
  • It is a small pea shaped gland attached to the hypothalamus by Infundibulum.
  • It has three parts:- Anterior, Middle and Posterior.
  • The hormones released from pituitary gland a controls the secretion of other endocrine gland.
  • Hence it is known as master gland.
  • The Anterior pituitary secretes Growth hormone, Thyroid stimulating hormone, FSH, LH, ACTH.
  • The posterior pituitary secretes Oxytocin and Vasopressin (ADH).
