SOLUTION :

Given polynomial, p(x) = 3x² + 4x + 2k and -2 is a zero of p(x).

Since, x = -2 is a zero of polynomial p(x) =  3x² + 4x + 2k

Therefore, p(-2) = 0

p(x) =  3x² + 4x + 2k

3(-2)² + 4(-2) + 2k = 0

3 × 4 - 8 + 2k = 0

12 - 8  + 2k = 0

4 + 2k = 0

2k = 0 - 4

2k = - 4

k = - 4 /2

k = -2

Hence, the value of k is - 2.
