for what value of k the following pair has infinite number of solutions............
(k- 3) X+3y = K ,
K (X+Y )=12
plzzzzzz I need it fast

shreya2011: for infinite solution a1/a2=b1/b2=c1/c2 so K-3/K=3/K=K/12 equate 3/K=K/12 u wud get k^2=36 I.e k=6

For infinite solutions
a1/a2=b1/b2=c1/c2
So, k-3/k=3/k=k/12
so, equate 3/k=k/12
k^2= 12×3
k^2=36
k=6

Heya mate,Here is ur answer

Equation 1 : (k-3)x+3y=K
Equation 2: k(x+y) = 12

= kx+ky =12

For any equation to have infinite number of solution

a1/a2= b1/b2 = c1 /c2

Here a1 = k-3

a2 = k

b1 = 3

b2 = k

So

 \frac{k - 3}{k}  =  \frac{3}{k}

k - 3 = 3

k  = 3 + 3

k=6

c1 = k

c2 = 12

b1 /b2 = c1 /c2

 \frac{3}{k}  =  \frac{k}{12}

By cross multiplication

3×12 = k×K

36 = k^2

√36=K

6= K

<b><u>so, the value of k for which the system of linear equation has infinitely many solutions= 6 .</u></b>
