Given ; 2x2 + kx +5 =0 has equal roots

To Find; the value of k

Solution; It is given that the quadratic equation 2x2 + kx +5 =0 has equal roots.

So for equal roots discriminant =0

comparing it with standard equation ax² + bx + c

a=2 b = k c= 5

D=0

b^2-4ac=0

k^2 -40=0

Hence k =√40
