The angle adjacent to (5x + 35°) equals to 45° as they both are corresponding to each other.

45° + (5x + 35°) = 180° (Linear Pair)

45° + 5x + 35° = 180°

5x + 45° + 35° = 180°

5x + 80° = 180°

5x = 180° - 80°

5x = 100°

x = 100°/5

x = 20°

Hence, 5x + 35°

= 5 × 20° + 35°

= 100° + 35°

= 135°
