Because on applying pressure the molecules attraction increase and the surface interlock with each other harder......

yes its ryt when two surfaces are press harder for ex take a box and put it at floor and push it softly then we conclude that it moves easily and in next phase we push it hardly then we conclude that it moves but not generally
