Forested area consists of many plants trees so the FCC type satellite imageries show the forested area in dark red color.
This is because the light incident on the plants is white light,the color absorbed the plants is red color and the color reflected back is green color.
The satellites show the color absorbed by the plants hence it shows dark red in forested areas
