Form a quadratic polynomial whose one of the zeroes is 15 and sum of the zeroes is 42.

Answer:

Let us assume that zeros of the polynomial are α & β.

So,

α = 15.

Also,

Sum of zeros is 42

So ,

α + β = 42.

15 + β = 42.

β = 27.

Now,

Product of zeros = αβ = 15 × 27

= 405.

As we know that polynomial whose product and sum of zeros are given is of the form

  {x}^{2}  - sx + p

where s is sum of zeros and p is product of zeros .

So,

Required polynomial will be

 {x}^{2}  - 42x + 405
