→ Measures

Length of the rectangular sheet = 21 cm

Breadth of the rectangular sheet = 14 cm

The longest diameter the circular sheet can possess = Breadth of the sheet [shorter side]

The longest diameter the circular sheet can possess = 14 cm

So,

Radius = 14/2 = 7 cm

→ Area of rectangular sheet

Area of rectangle = lb

= 21 x 14

= 294 cm²

→ Area of circular sheet

Area of circle = πr²

= \sf{\dfrac{22}{7}\times7\times7}

= 154 cm²

→ Area of remaining metal sheet

= Area of total metal sheet - Area of circular sheet

= 294 - 154

= 140 cm²

Therefore, the area of the remaining metal sheet is 140 cm².
