Sir,
Kindly allow me some space in the columns of your esteemed paper to draw the attention of the Municipal committee, Lahore, to the dilapidated condition of roads and drains in this town.
The roads appear never to have been repaired for the last ten years. The surface is uneven. There are jolts in the moving carriage. People prefer to walk on foot and this also is not easy. One might fall at any step. In rainy season, there are pools of stagnant water everywhere. The drains are dirty and emit stinking smell. They are never cleaned or washed. They are a breeding ground for mosquitoes. There is the constant danger of breaking out some disease. The members of the committee are always busy in party quarrels. Our requests had no effect on them. Will they take action before it is too late?
