Respected Sir/Ma'am,

I would like to bring to your kind notice that recently due to corona pandemic the vegetable and fruit vendors are taking wrong benefits by selling the items in hefty prices and poor quality.

As we all know that the whole country is under lockdown due to corona pandemic. The life of everyone has come to a halt and it has become difficult to manage expenses from home as the work life is also disturbed. Many people who work in the private sectors are either receiving half salaries or no salaries. Also, the people who are self-employed, they have no sources to earn money as their work depends on the public. At such a crucial time, the vegetable and fruit vendors are selling items in black. They are overcharging to such an extent that it has become very difficult to afford the basic necessities now. A person can once think of buying them in high prices but what is the benefit of buying them in high prices if the quality of fruits and vegetables is also poor?

Neither we are receiving a good quality nor the prices are affordable. Now you only tell, how can a person afford the items in such a high price. Also the quality is so poor that it has caused diseases to many people. Will you take the responsibility of poor health of the people in your locality? What if the diagnosed people go out and also catch corona virus? Who will take the responsibility for them?

It is a request to strictly take actions against such vendors as they cannot just play with the lives of their customers. They should follow the price list issued by the government plus they should provide a good and healthy quality of fruits and vegetables.

I hope my request will be taken into consideration on an urgent basis and if not then we will be bound to take serious actions against the vendors and the Municipal Corporation for not taking the things seriously and risking the lives of many people.
