Dear ____,
I am writing this letter to draw your attention towards reckless driving.
It is high time that proper steps are taken to put a stop to thereckless driving of motor cars and other vehicles in the streets of our thickly populated city. Only two days ago, a poor old beggar narrowly escaped from being run over by a motor car going at a very high speed. The beggar was crossing the street when a, car came dashing along at a speed above ninety kilometers an hour.
Many women and children who try to cross the roads of thisoverpopulated city become victims to such reckless driving. Thishas caused many fatal accidents.
There is no doubt that regulations regarding speed limit do existBut the drivers pay no heed. The police too take little or nonotice of these offenders. Hence, accidents are almost a dailyoccurrence.
The police must strictly enforce the regulations regarding limit. The public who are the worst sufferers, must bring pressure tobear Upon the police and other authorities to put a stop to reckless And negligent driving, otherwise this menace will continue unabated Leading to more deaths.
Thanking you.
Yours Sincerely,

Dear Sir,
Please permit me to point out the hazards of reckless driving on city road. I shall feel grateful if you publish my views in the column of your esteemed newspaper.
Rash driving has become the order of the day. So many accidents take place every day on the city roads. Drivers play with the lives of children and old men. Young boys feel the thrill of speed. They do not observe traffic rules. They take pride in overtaking other vehicles and going against light at the crossing. All this results in fatal accidents. The law-abiding citizens are caught in this peril.
Traffic jam is yet another hazard. It is often seen that heavy vehicles are parked in the area of “no entry”. This cause traffic jams.
Tangas and three-wheeler make thihgs worse in such an area. The policeman on duty remains a silent spectator.
Drunken truck drivers play havoc with the lives of innocent people. It is a pity that such people escape and are not caught. Even if they are caught on the spot, they are let off with a minor punishment.
They also bribe the policemen and go scot-free.
Traffic rules must be observed. Under-aged drivers and those driving without license should be punished. The drivers found driving in a drunken state should be dealt with sternly. Roads should be kept cleared of tangas, richkshaws and hand-carts. Speed breakers, roundabout and traffic light should be set up where necessary.
I request the authorities through these column to enforce the rule of the road and educate the people about traffic rules.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Shweta Jaiswar.
