High in the atmosphere, some oxygen (O2) molecules absorbed energy from the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays and split to form single oxygen atoms. These atoms combined with molecular oxygen (O2) to form ozone (O3) molecules, which are very effective at absorbing UV rays.

⬇️HERE IS YOUR ANSWER⬇️

________________________

Ozone at the higher levels of the atmosphere is a product of UV radiations acting on oxygen (O2) molecule. The high energy UV radiations split apart some molecular oxygen (02) into free oxygen (O) atoms. These atoms are reactive and combine with the molecular oxygen to for ozone.

O2 ------> O+O

O+O2------> O3(ozone)
