As we know,

Work Done = F*S

(where F= Force applied on the object

and S = displacement of the object.)

As F = ma,

∴ W = mas

According to third equation of motion,

v2 = u2 + 2

( where v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

a = acceleratiion

s= displacement)

When u = 0,

∴ v2 = (0)2 + 2as v2 = 2as s = v2/2a K.E. = ma*v2/2a K.E. = mv2/2

K.E. = 1/2 *mv2
