Sodium carbonate is white transparent crystalline solid. It is soluble in water and solution is alkaline. When exposed to air,loses its water of crystallization & forms a white amorphous powder.
Na2CO3, 10H2O ——-> Na2CO3, H2O + 9 H2O
It is used in washing clothes as a cleaning agent.
