Consider the situation shown in the below figure.

Let the square is ABCD​ and its centre (intersecting point is O) then the centre is equidistant from all corners. So the magnitude of force due to mass at each corner on the mass at centre is same.

From the figure we can observe that,

FOA & FOD are opposite to each otherandFOB & FOC are opposite to each other

So the net force on the mass m at the centre becomes zero.
