Let the required number be 15a,

According to the question, four fifth of a number exceeds two thirds of the number by 10.

∴ ( 4 / 5 of 15a ) = ( 2 / 3 of 15a ) + 10

⇒ ( 4 / 5 x 15a ) = ( 2 / 3 x 15a ) + 10

⇒ ( 4 x 3a ) = ( 2 x 5a ) + 10

⇒ 12a = 10a + 10

⇒ 12a - 10a = 10

⇒ 2a = 10

⇒ a = \dfrac{10}{2}

⇒ a = 5

Therefore the required number is 15 a = > 15( 5 ) = 75.

Thus, number satisfying the given equation is 75.
