Four gases A, B, C, D are to be identified. It is observed that gas A is a reducing agent which contains oxygen. Gas B turns bleaches moist litmus paper with characteristic color. When Gas C is mixed with gas D, it forms white fumes with no formation of other product. Identify the gases A, B, C and D.

Gas a being reducing agent containing oxygen is sulphur dioxide gas. Gas B which bleaches moist litmus paper with characteristic color is chlorine gas. Gas C and D are HCl and NH3 respectively as they react to form NH4Cl (white dense fumes).
