Four planets — A, B, C and D— are orbiting a star. A weighs 0.2 times as much as B does while C weighs
1.2 times as much as D does and four times as much as B does. Find the ratio of the weight of A to D, both

Answer:

Fractional form = 3/50

Decimal form = 0.06

Step-by-step explanation:

Given A = 0.2 times B = 0.2B

C = 4 times B = 4B

C = 1.2 times D = 1.2D

therefore D = C/1.2

Let B = X

so A = 0.2x

Ratio of A to D

A:D = 0.2x : C/1.2

A/D = 0.2x * 1.2 / 4x

A/D = 2.4 x / 4 x

A/D = 0.6/10

A/D = 0.3/5

A/D = 3/50

Fraction form = 3/50

Decimal form = 0.06

Given :  Four planets — A, B, C and D — are orbiting a star.

A weighs 0.2 times as much as B does

while C weighs 1.2 times as much as D does and four times as much as B does.

To Find :  the ratio of the weight of A to D

Solution:

Weight of D  =  D

C weighs 1.2 times as much as D

=> Weight of C  = 1.2D

C weighs  four times as much as B does.

=> 1.2D  = 4B

=> B = 0.3D

 A weighs 0.2 times as much as B does

=> A = 0.2B

=>  A= 0.2 (0.3D)

=> A = 0.06D

=> A/D  = 0.06

0.06 = 6/100 = 3/50

ratio of the weight of A to D  is  0.06     or  3 : 50
