For resistance parallel

1/Rp = 1/4 + 1/4+ 1/4+ 1/4

1/Rp= 1ohm

so equivalent resistance = 1ohm

Given : Four resistance of 4 ohms are connected in parallel.

To Find  : The resultant resistance

(A) 4ohms

(B) 3 ohms

(C)2 ohms

(D) 1 ohm

Solution

Resistance in Series

Rs  = R₁ + R₂  + R₃ + R₄

Resistance in Parallel

1/Rp  = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂  + 1/R₃ + 1/R₄

R₁ = R₂ = R₃ = R₄ = 4 ohm  (Ω)

1/Rp  = 1/4 + 1/4  + 1/4 + 1/4

=> 1/Rp  = (1  + 1   + 1 + 1)/4

=>  1/Rp  = (4)/4

=> 1/Rp  = 1

=> Rp = 1

The resultant resistance will be: 1 ohm (Ω)

option D is correct
