Therefore,

⇒ Area of shaded region = area of square - area of 4 ( 1 / 4 ) of circles

             ⇒ ( 10 cm )^2 - area of circle with radius 5 cm

             ⇒ 100 cm^2 - π( 5 cm )^2

             ⇒ 100 cm^2 - 25π cm^2

             ⇒ 100 cm^2 - 78.5 cm^2
