Four strategies that communities could engage in to protest Gender based violence in their area
Answers
Answer:
The root cause of any type of violence is illiteracy.
These steps can be taken to eradicate or at least reduce gender based violence:
- Stop any type of violence. The least we can do is take a stand for ourselves and others. Be empowered and speak about it or seek help.
- Use media to speak up against any type of violence. We can speak about it on social media.
- Educate people. We need to educate people to stop abuse and victim blaming. Not only this we need to make people aware of the steps they can take and the consequences of gender based violence.
- We can join community based victim support initiatives. Be a volunteer and spread the message.

The following are four strategies that communities could use to protest gender-based violence in their areas:
1. Enact and enforce laws to protect women from discrimination and violence, such as beatings, verbal abuse, mutilation, torture, "honour" killings, and trafficking.
2. Educate community members on their responsibilities under international and national human rights laws, as well as encourage women to participate in the political process and educate the public on the importance of women's votes.
3. Encourage peaceful conflict resolution by including the perspectives of women and girls; and emphasise the importance of girls' education and women's participation in economic development.
4. Improve women's ability to earn money and support their families by providing women with skill training and sensitising the public.
