Step-by-step explanation:

first frame the equations

4x=2y+16

5x+43=7y

or

4x-2y=16......I ×5 = 20x-10y=70

5x-7y=-43.....II ×4 = 20x-28y=-172

use simultaneous equations and solve it

20x-10y=70

-20x+28y=172

28y-10y=172+70

18y=242

y=243/18

get y...substitute it in one equation and get x
