given four time the sum of two numbers is 140

let the two numbers be a and b

4(a + b) = 140

a + b = 35  -------------- (1)

the difference of greater and the smaller is 13

if a>b, then

a-b = 13 -------------------(2)

equation (1) + (2)

a + b = 35

a - b = 13

2a = 48

a= 24

a + b = 35

24 + b = 35

b  = 35 - 24

b = 11

so, answer a = 24 & b = 11
