4.Topographical maps

These maps are unusal with large scale

1. Political Map

A political map  serves to indicate the administrative division of countries, states, provinces and cities. The political world map, for example, shows the planet Earth divided into countries. In political maps, besides showing the division of countries, states and etc. The names of these locations are also shown. In this type of map, capitals (both from countries and states) gain a greater prominence.

2. Physical Map:

Physical maps are thematic maps used by Earth Sciences to graphically record physical characteristics that are your specific research objects. Ex .: Geomorphology will produce the geomorphological maps that will show information about the terrestrial relief and its geological formations.

More detailed physical maps can bring more than one theme.

It includes elements of nature such as relief, hypsometry (altitude representation by chromatic scale), geological structure, hydrography and soil vegetation. In the hypsometric map, for example, the altitude representation is made by color.

3. Thematic Map:

Thematic maps are maps based on topographic maps representing any geographic phenomenon on the Earth's surface. They pursue well-defined goals. They refer to the representation of certain characteristics of distribution, relationship, density or regionalization of real objects (vegetation, soils, geology, etc.), or abstract concepts (indicators of violence, economic development, quality of life, etc.). ).

4. Topographical map:

A topographic map is a generally partial representation of the relief of the earth's surface at a definite scale. Unlike topographic maps, topographic maps represent large areas of the territory: a provincial area, a region, a country or the world. They include contours, which allow to reflect the shape of the surface of the Earth.
