Answer:

Let present age of father be 'x' years

Let present age of son be 'y' years

Before 2 years

Father age = x - 2

Son age = y - 2

According to statement

x - 2 = 7(y - 2)

x - 2 = 7y - 14

x = 7y - 12.

Solutions

1. when y = 0, x = - 12

2. when y = 1, x = - 5
