For a working democracy, it need a fair election in the country. Conducting election in a fair way, there need a free and fair electoral competition. In order to ensure free and fair electoral competition, following ways can be considered:-

  • Credible election can be possible by free expression of the people- Without any biasness and forced voting, election needs to be held by the expression of people freely.
  • Voting by means of Universal Adult Franchise- Indian Constitution provide the system of voting to all its citizen above 18 years of age. Every citizen should have the responsibility to in the election by his full consciousness. This help in the Government as well as nation building.
  • Healthy electoral competition- To achieve healthy competition in Election procedure, the election should not be driven out by the ideas of caste, race and sex. Everybody who wants to represent the Election should be given equal opportunity.
  • Delimitation of Constituencies- In order to conduct Election for such a large democracy like that of India, States  are divided into different constituencies. This also ensure proper representation of a large population.
  • Moral Code of Conduct- This is imposed by the Election Commission in a constituencies where Election is going to take place. By the help of these, Election Commission want to curb the false manifestation of schemes by the Political parties and attract people before Elections.

Thus, these methods can be taken into account while conducting election with a vision of free and fairness.
