pH of fresh milk is ranges from 6.5 to 6.8. Which means, it is mild acidic.
But when it turns into curd, its pH decreases to 5 and less.
Because, fresh milk changes into curd.. due to the presence of bacterica called- Lactobacisllus. Lactobacillus makes the milk acidic, by releasing an acid - Lactic Acid.

When milk is turned into curd then its pH value will decrease due to the production of lactic acid in curd which is acidic in nature. When milk turns into curd then it starts showing all properties of acid. It turns sour and the ph value decreases from 6.
