Friction is a necessary evil. It causes heating effect in many cases. Out of the various effects of friction, below are mentioned the two heating effects of friction:
1. The tyres of vehicles after long drive when touched prove to be hot
While in motion during long journey, the tyres continuously oppose the force of friction and in turn the friction causes heating of the outer surface of tyre.
2. Rubbing hands produce heat
When we rub our hands, then each of our hands are opposed by the force of friction. After rubbing for few seconds we observe that our palm gets heated up.
