This is due to the fact that sometime friction is necessary and sometime isn't.....

friction is necessry for locomotion i.e. movement ,but due to reduction in friction there would be blunders all over the world ...no one would be able to move from one place to another and would always cause accidents thus friction is a necessary evil.
