here, in triangle ADC
angle D is the largest angle i.e. AC is the longest side. So, AC >AD.
It is given that AB>AC.
Therefore, it is proved that AB>AD.
There is a theorem that in a triangle the side opposite to the greater angle is longer.
now in (a)
for triangle ABO
angle B< angle A
So, BO>AO----(1)
again in triangle DOC,
angle C<angle D
So, CO>DO-----(2)
Combining (1)&(2)
BO+CO>AO+DO
i.e. BC>AD
HENCE PROVED!!
