We know that (a + b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab
= > a^2 + 1/a^2 + 2 * a * 1/a + a^2 + 1/a^2 - 2 * a * 1/a
= > a^2 + 1/a^2 + 2 + a^2 + 1/a^2 - 2
= > a^2 + 1/a^2 + a^2 + 1/a^2
= > 2a^2 + 2/a^2

Given (3x - 1)^2 - (3x - 2)(3x + 1)
We know that (a - b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab
= > 9x^2 - 2 * 3x * 1 + 1^2 - [3x * 3x + 3x * 1 - 2 * 3x - 2 * 1]
= > 9x^2 - 6x + 1 - [9x^2 + 3x - 6x - 2]
= > 9x^2 - 6x + 1 - 9x^2 - 3x - 2
= > 9x^2 - 6x + 1 - 9x^2 + 3x + 2
= > -3x + 3
