Step-by-step explanation:

Given

from a bangle of radius 3 cm,a piece is to be cut to make a ring of radius 1/2 cm what should be the central angle of the piece to be cut out

  • Given radius of bangle = 3 cm
  • Radius of ring = 1/2 cm
  • We know that circumference of circle = 2 π r cm
  • Length of ring = 2 x π x 1/2
  •                          = π cm
  • Therefore length of arc = π cm
  • In a circle of radius r,
  • Length of arc = x/360 x 2 x π x r cm, given r = 3 cm
  • So π = x/360 x 2 x π x 3
  • So x = 360 π / 2 x π x 3
  • Therefore x = 360 / 6
  •       So x = 60 degree
