An ordinary glass bottle cracks when boiling water is poured into it but a bossily glass bottle does not, give reason?
The crack or fracture plane is due to the movement of the bottle inside of the container holding the boiling water. The bottle has not been tempered, like Pyrex and becomes brittle. In chemistry labs, the glass tube is suspended in the water.
Also if the glass bottle you mentioned is sealed, the pressure built up inside the bottle increases to a point that will cause a crack.
Not familiar with the term you used of a ‘bossily’ glass bottle. If it is a tempered glass, than it has a different composition than a drinking bottle of day beer or soda and can therefore withstand a higher heat than ordinary glass.
