From a certain height above the ground, stone A is dropped gently. Simultaneously another stone B is fired horizontally. Which of the two stones will arrive earlier on the ground and why?

The speed of horizontal movement is more than the velocity of the earth.

And so this horizontal movement stone will not or never go down and reach the earth.

Hence, the stone that is dropped from the above in a vertical way will reach the ground fast, and that is due to gravitational pull.

Hence stone A will reach the ground faster.

Answer both stone A and B will reach the ground at the same time.

Explanation:

It doesn't matters whether the stone is dropped gently or fired horizontally the gravity that acts on them is equal . Hence,both stones will arrive at the ground at the same time.
