Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

total area of sheet = πr²

                            =22/7*28*28

                            =2464 cm²

area of 2 circles = 2*πr²

                        =2*22/7*7*7

                        =308 cm²

area of rectangle = 3*2

                          =6 cm ²

area of remaining sheet = area of total sheet - [area of 2 circles+area of rect.]

                                 = 2464-(308+6)

                              =2150 cm²

The area of the remaining sheet is 2150 cm² if from a circular card sheet of radius 28 cm, two circles of radii 7 cm and a rectangle of length 3 cm and breadth 2 cm are removed

Given:

  • A circular card sheet of radius 28 cm
  • Two circles of radii 7 cm and a rectangle of length 3 cm and breadth 2 cm are removed.

To Find:

  • The area of the remaining sheet.

Solution

  • Area of circle = πr²
  • where r = Radius of the circle
  • π ≈ 22/7 or 3.14
  • Area of a rectangle = length x breadth

Step 1:

Calculate area of sheet initially using r = 28 and π = 22/7

A = (22/7)(28)²

A = 2464 cm²

Step 2:

Calculate area of  a circle cut using r = 7 and π = 22/7

 (22/7)(7)²

 = 154 cm²

Step 3:

Calculate area of rectangle cut

3 x 2

= 6  cm²

Step 4:

Calculate area of the remaining sheet.

2464 - 154 - 154 - 6

= 2150 cm²

The area of the remaining sheet is 2150 cm²
