Given:

  • A circular sheet has radius=4 cm
  • A circle of radius 3 cm is removed from the sheet.

To find:

  • Area of the remaining sheet.

Solution :-

First in the circular sheet.

  • Radius = 4 cm

As we know that in a circle

  • {\boxed{\bf Area={\pi} r^2}}

Substitute the values :

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area={\dfrac {22}{7}}\times (4)^2

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area={\dfrac {22}{7}}\times 16

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area=50.3\:cm^2

Now in the removed circle .

  • Radius = 3 cm

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area={\pi}r^2

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area=\dfrac {22}{7}\times (3)^2

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area=\dfrac {22}{7}\times 9

{:}\longrightarrow\sf Area=28.3\:cm^2

Area of the remaining sheet = Area of circular sheet - Area of removed circle

{:}\longrightarrow\sf 50.3-28.3

{:}\longrightarrow\sf 22cm^2
