Area of a circle is λr^{2}

Value of λ = 22/7 or 3.14

Area of the original circular sheet = λr^{2}

                                                        = 3.14 × 4 × 4 cm

                                                        = 50.2 cm²

Area of the circle cut =  λr^{2}

                                  = 3.14 × 3 × 3

                                   = 28.2 cm²

Area of the paper left = Original are of the paper- area of the paper cut

                                     = 50.2 - 28.2   cm²

                                     = 22   cm²
