From a cylinder of radius 7 cm and height 14cm same size of a cone is hollowed out.

Find the surface area of the remaining solid.​

height of cone = height of cylinder = 14 cm

Remaining surface area = Surface area of cylinder - Surface area of cone

                                        = πr²h - 1/3πr²h

                                        = πr²h ( 1- 1/3 )          

               [since all the values are same, we have taken them as common]

                                        = 22/7 * 7 * 7 * 14 (2/3)

                                        = 22 * 7 * 14 * 2/34312/3 or 1437.33 cm²

                                        =  154 * 14 * 2/3

                                        = 2156 * 2/3
