From a cylinder of radius 7 m and 24 m cone of same radius and same height is taken out. Find the surface area of the remaining part. If the inner portion of this remaining part is painted in pink colour at the rate of Rs 23 per 5 m^2 and the exterior portion is painted in green colour at the rate of Rs 40 per 11 m^2, then find the total cost of required to paint such a solid.

Answer:

The total amount of money required is Rs 6930.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Radius = 7m

Height = 24m

Slant Height = \sqrt{r^2+h^2} = \sqrt{7^2+24^2} =\sqrt{576+49} =\sqrt{625} = 25m

Cost of painting Cylinder area ( Exterior Portion ) = 40 / 11

Cost of painting Cone area ( Interior Portion ) = 23 / 5

Removing the cone from the cylinder, The remaining surface area

TSA = CSA of cylinder + Area of cylinder

= 2\pi r h+ \pi r^2 = 22 / 7 * 7 (2 * 24 + 7)

= 22 * (48 + 7)

= 22 * 55

= 1210

TSA of Cone = \pi r l

= 22 / 7 * 7 * 25

= 22 * 25

= 550

Cost of painting Cylinder area = 1210 * 40 / 11 = 4400

Cost of painting Cone area = 550 * 23 / 5 = 2530

Total amount of money required = 4400 + 2530 = 6930
