from a rectangular cardboard 36 squares of side 1 cm can be cut off. if the width of this cardboard is 4 centimetre what is the length?

mate this is your solution,

edge of the square cutted from the rectangular cardboard=1cm
area of each square=side^2
=1cm*1cm=1cm^2
area is such 36 boxes= area of each box *36
=36m^2
According to question,
area of 36 square =area of the rectangular cardboard=36m^2
breadth of the rectangular cardboard=4cm
Now,
Area of rectangle =36cm^2
length*breadth=36m^2
length*4cm=36cm^2
length=36m^2/4cm=9cm

So, The length of the cardboard sheet is 9 cm
